isn't the most difficult part here using the downgraded version of Mail for Exchange from Nokia?
Do you mean using Microsoft Exchange service on GMail's? Yes, that's another possible way.
However, I need MfE for my work email as the company I am working with allows us to check email through Outlook Mobile Access protocol only.
Moreover, I prefer syncing stuff through Sync Profile than MfE, personally.
