How To Break An RCS Lock

Here's how to break a lock.

  1. cp file file.BAK
  2. rcs -u file
  3. rcs -l file
  4. edit file
  5. diff file file.BAK
  6. put back any changes if any that you clobbered by breaking the lock
  7. rcs -u file

Shouldn't that last line be ci -u file? rcs -u just breaks the lock again, while ci -u checks it in unlocked
